It's not like I was a big fan of the series who grew up playing the Banjo games for years and who failed to find out the gender of one of its characters. I bet if you played Touhou 8 you would instantly assume Wriggle Nightbug is male when you saw the character. Well she isn't! And I wouldn't blame you for that mistake, and I definitely wouldn't post an ASCII of a facepalm to humiliate you or make fun of you. Because, well, not that many people are familiar with Touhou series to know these kinds of things. And just because Banjo Kazooie happened to become popular and well known in gaming masses doesn't mean I should have jumped on bandwagon and played it to death.
Oh, and I didn't play BK long enough to get to the point where Kazooie lays eggs. If I did, that would be a different story, yes, I'd at least have some clue. But otherwise I honestly don't see how one can tell its gender just by its looks. I didn't even know what kind of bird she was.. Gee.

If I was playing Touhou and there was a character with an ambiguous gender, then I would assume that it would be a girl. Why? Because it's Touhou. And no, I have never played any Touhou games and don't know much about the characters.

Yes, you should have played it. BK was a very fun and humorous game which is why it became popular (and in my and many others' opinions, a classic). If you would have played it through then you would have had an enjoyable time and gotten some fond memories that will make you nostalgiagasm like all other BK fans when we remember the fun times we had playing these games.
Also if you couldn't get the eggs in a short time then you must have really sucked. They're in the first level and it shouldn't take more than 30 minutes to get them from the time you first start the game.
