Anonymous2: I think it's meant more as an homage to Stanley Kubrick. There's the helmet from the cover of Full Metal Jacket, Homer chopping through the door like in The Shining (which also happened in a THOH ep), Bart riding a bomb like in Dr. Strangelove, Bart as a droog from A Clockwork Orange, and the family as monkeys gathered around the monolith from 2001: A Space Oddysey.

As for the rest of the picture, it may be a reference to Eyes Wide Shut. I'm not sure.
