Anonymous2: Believe it or not, it's actually not a fancharacter. It's a concept character created by Sonic Team (or someone else hired by SEGA) that was never used. I can't recall exactly what she was destined for, but I think it might have been... Sonic CD?
SonofX51: She was supposed to be Sonic's partner and possible love interest in Sonic X-TREME. A game that was not released, would be the first true 3D sonic game if it had. Tiars cool, and smexy. The official art of her had very...scant clothes to go along with her unfortunate last name.
Anonymous4(2): Oh God I'm glad this character never made it into Sonic canon. As shit as some of the new characters are, they seem awesome in comparison to what was proposed on that article. Yeesh.
Anonymous6: Agrees with anon4
Her design is messed up as well, i mean she does look hot here, but she's supposed to be a cat, she looks liek a hedgehog without quills.
KelperFoxWolf: Anonymous 1: Fan-character?! Tiara Bobowski was a concept character that was going to be Sonic's new girlfriend. Her first appearance was going to be on Sonic X-Treme, the unreleased Sonic game for Genesis, Mars, Saturn, and PC.
IMO, a far better character than Amy Rose and many characters released on the early years of Sonic.
Anonymous10(9): As much as I hate annoying, tacked-on love interest characters as a general rule, I have to disagree with you, Kelper.
Amy, at the very least, had a personality developed beyond "she's a girl version of Sonic and Sonic instantly falls in love with her because she's perfectly equal to or even better than he is". Also, I found it annoying how the entire premise of this (canceled) game seemed to revolve around Sonic doting on this cheap female character. Frankly, I'm glad that shit never saw the light of day. While Amy was used as a plot device in Sonic CD, at the very least the designers had the foresight to give her a bit of conflict in her pursuance of Sonic (that being that she's crazy and Sonic does not really seem to like her much), and to sort of kept her as a side, filler character, which all but the main three really should be.
Anonymous11: Amy was, is, and always will be an annoying 'female Sonic' thing that the damn dirty Japs tacked on. Sally Acorn FTW. At least Sally has more depth than Amy's sole 'I lurv Sonic' characteristic.
Anonymous12(9): Everyone's welcome to their preference, but all I'm saying is that from a purely conceptual and written standpoint, Amy is a better character than Tiara. I dislike them both, myself, but Amy less so for the reasons I stated.
Sally, on the other hand, is a good example of what a love interest should be; well written, developed personality, independent of the hero (but not necessarily better than) and with her own life and conflicts outside of pursuing the main character. I don't like Sonic x Sally either, but I do like Sally as a character. I wish Sonic Team would take some lessons from the team that developed SatAM.

Agree. The whole problem is that Sally was designed by the guys at DiC(K), and not SONICTEAM...
As for Tiara's design, Anonymous 10, the idea of adding her came on the later stage of the development, leaving us not enough transcripts/information regarding the character. Saying it's shitty just because of the design is a bit biased, considering the scarce information about her. If she was released along with the game, probably her story might have been developed as well as more convincing than that of Amy. Only the manual would tell you who Amy was, because in Sonic CD it was like a cameo. A silly cameo.
Anonymous14: In the end Sonix X-treme looked like a shit game anyway and the only reason people want it is because they can't have it. The game looked slow, uninteresting, and boring as hell with little to no direction as to where to go. I've read all the different story scenarios (I think there were 8) and the most development you find in Tiara is "My dads been kidnapped help me".
