Lapp: Chrys' smile is so cute, just based on her personality. :3
All the smug empoweredness behind it, despite her only being interested in something as "innocent" and often naïve as love. Her type of cut-throat, cunning archetype would otherwise be the kind to proclaim how over-rated and pointless love is, making it all the more intriguing played as the opposite, her having no choice and all...
Faptacular: I'm starting to see parallels between the fascination some of you guys have with changlings, (Chrysalis in particular) and many girls and vampires.
I guess it's the mixture of how one needs the other to survive mixed with the danger of being your lover's prey as well.
Of course I think that's why I find her to be a turn-off. I'd always wonder if she were just humoring me to keep her food-supply happy and docile.
Lapp: @Faptacular: Although with a girl as pretty as her she'd have no problem getting cheap fucks irl, I like to imagine that, for once given true, sincere love intended for her and her alone, she would just sorta melt (not literally!).
I thought rather than the whole "insectoid" theme, that her name "Chrysalis" referenced that underneath the shell she depends on for protection, she's waiting for something to let her through as what she is inside. Then I realized, "Holy shit, that's dumb and cliché as all fuck ;c."
Anyways, check out >>841911 ... It's kinda what I mean, that in a world like FiM where things aren't as unnecessarily complex, over-intricate, and heartless as ours, maybe she truly has never been shown love for herself and her personality before. And imagining being able to give that to a girl like her is just... <3
SwiperTheFox: @Faptacular: Well, a more fundamental thing is that she's literally full of holes. I mean the more holes the merrier, kind of. I suppose. Hehe.

Since it's mostly just implied she's after emotionless quickies it'd be the equivalent of a diet of pure junk food.
I much prefer the Woonastuck explanation that the queen loves her hive which sustains them and their love for the queen sustains her.
