Back braces prevent flexion forward, side-flexion or hyperextension but I don't know if they stop rotation, and that's the real problem here.
It's possible for humans to do what her human half is doing (side-bend about 90 degrees sum vertrebrae) but I think it would break a horse to rotate that much.
