toongrowner: @anon1: Isn't it sad that some people have really nothing better to do than g around the internet and spreading hate for no real reason instead of try to find something they can enjoy? This are the people who have no "real life".
Also: Futa or not, technical they are still girls. And it kinda makes no sense to call someone gay, who is into girls.
Nightweaver20xx: Nah, both groups of us don't really have lives. The only difference is we bronies don't act like 12 year old schoolyard bullies trying to push around other people with pathetic insults.
atryl: @Nightweaver20xx: I really don't think we should separate bronies and furries that much.
They love the same thing. Talking animals with human features. And I think it's okay. Saying 'but our community is different because this and that' is pointless, I've met many-many MANY furries, bronies, they are all the same. There are cool guys, there are lifeless ones (which is not ann insult, sometimes life just happens somehowe else), it's like calling a WoW fan fat lifeless nerd. Most of my friends (90%) ingame had girlfriend, boyfriend, kids, family, friends in general, and they were humans.
No need to pick on eachother. We are all weird. And I find this beautiful.
PinkBallons: @atryl: There's good and bad to every group; saying bronies and furries are the same because they both contain examples of annoying and cool members is silly.
Yes, we are all weird, and I'm fine with most furries and what they do. But I'm not a fan of the anthropomorphized animals and OCs typically associated with the furry fandom, and I'd rather not be told I'm a member of a group that I have no interest in.
Hierolocc: The fundamental difference for me is that I like being Human, I'm proud to be Human all things considered. If I wrote a book, it would probably have an agressive Human faction trying to conquer the universe to institute superior Terran culture throughout space.
That's why if I ever make an OC for a story in a setting like Equestria, it will never be based on me directly. Self inserts just chafe me somehow, and frankly I can't really say I'd want to be something else than Human. Ponies are perhaps the closest, but even then I find it unlikely.
The "Furfags" I don't like are often a little too fond of self inserts, which disturbs me how eager they'd be to throw away their humanity in order to be...Well whatever the bloody things are. No healthy creature should have that much red and black for a color scheme.
I wrote a sort of definition once, but the fundamental difference between what I perceive as good bronies and bad furries, is attitude. Make interesting and well thought out stuff with your twenty armed Llama-taur fursona and I'll probably think it very odd but not get on your back about it. But have some grinning fuckbag with horrid design and moral decrepitude that still has a pussy magnet regardless of their noxiousness, then I'll puff up and spit venom in your eyes.
A brony can be just a bad as any furry, but any furry can be just as good as any brony. It comes down to matters of respect. Me, I'm probably a fairly poor brony when it comes to the basic ideals we try to uphold. When I should love, I froth, when I should tolerate, I rage.
Though If I had my rathers I'd probably be a rock at the bottom of the deepest ocean abyss where nothing could live. That way I'd finally get some peace and quiet.
G_Goobington_the_2nd: @Hierolocc: Pretty much nailed it. The only other species I'd want to be is one that can fly, and that's only because
"fuck yeah! Flying!".
atryl: @PinkBallons: I meant something like 'car lovers' and 'motorcycle lovers'. I didn't say (let's say you are in the bike group) you like cars because you love transport vehicles. Not sure if that made sense, I'm trying though :P
@Hierolocc: I gotcha. Yea I see what you are saying. But furries have more material to build from. Like, we have ponies, right? Earth, pegasi, unicorns and alicorns. Other than that the other races (diamond dogs, griffons, zebras etc). I think the furry world allows more space for special characters.
I agree with you in that I don't understand the genuine hate that some members of either of the fandoms have towards members of the other, but saying "you're the same thing" isn't the way to go about stopping it. It's an attempt to force two worlds together based on surface similarities, and that simply won't work. We both create fan work and OC's, but all fandoms do those things; it doesn't make us compatible.
I don't see a way for bronies and furries to get along as a whole, but that's okay. The brony fandom will die off in not too long and be absorbed, and there will be no more reason for conflict.

Let's face it, your first statement was correct and we should leave it at that.

You've started an argument about furries on a pic that has nothing to do about furfags. Bravo.
