PinkBallons: @Lapp: Well, the theme here seems to be Sparkle family, so in this case incest is really the only option available.
Otherwise, it'd really just depend where you look. Considering the act of incest is a choice whereas being gay is not, I'd like to think homosexuality is more widely accepted.
Lapp: @PinkBallons: I still haven't the slightest clue where to stand on homosexuality being inborn. I guess bisexuality is different, because I understand love as pertaining to the person rather than gender. I feel retarded for it, but I don't really understand where gender got included into love, mostly because everyone else treats it like a given that just makes sense, but it's the weirdest thing when you give it thought. I can only see the argument as being evolutionary. Of course, as much as I love good ol' Darwin, I feel trying to fit love into evolutionary perspecs is a bit counterintuitive. Regulating human emotions by logic is for dumbs who can't regulate human emotions by self-control, uh?
PinkBallons: @Lapp: Dunno, I consider straight/gay people to be halving their chances at finding love. Because of that, I prefer to see it as something that's out of their hands, or else it's just depressing.
I don't think evolution has much of a place in human society at this point (for better or worse), let alone in love.
Lapp: @PinkBallons: Eh, I quite like evolution. If just the somewhat aesthetic appeal that it's such a well designed theory ('course, it's a fact, so only loosely a "theory" anymore).
I'm not sure where to stand on society's inhibition of evolution. It's brutish of me to believe that natural selection should be introduced to the swollen population, to bleed it like an infected wound, but it's naïve of me to want to allow life to everyone when the benefits of a decreased population are myriad. There's no acceptable answers, so I'll leave it to more foolish persons who believe themselves righteous enough to decide choices in other people's lives. I.e. Politicians :s
Nuxersopus: @Lapp: Why not do it like the Chinese? Only one single child is allowed.
That way the human population would decrease drastically inwithin years without having to take any lifes.
Though socialism is build on a growing population and economy. Supporting old people will (and is already in some states) a great problem, since there aren't enough people left to work anymore.
Also I don't think poor people would care much about this law to begin with. Especially in Africa, without children they would have nothing.
Oh well, our whole system is destined to fail anyways. Still better than natural selection.

...so incest is more socially acceptable than being gay?

...I'm over-thinking this.
That being said, I think gay relationships are more widely accepted than incestuous relationships, but it differs from culture to culture.
