G_Goobington_the_2nd: Pretty meh episode overall. I think the fact that Twilight offers to teach others is an interesting development, and the nacho joke was funny, but other than that, nothing really memorable.
Faptacular: I really liked the Episode. But then I do so love mah adorable shitstorm.
Hopefully with a little continuity Twilight can really embrace the mentor role herself and subtly guide them back to what is so painfully obvious to everyone but them rather then the randomness they've been attempting.
It was also nice to see Pip again.
Good also to see ponies actually acknowledging Twilight's position. I don't want to see them fangasming at her all the time but it being completely ignored (for her and the other EoH) is weird as hell.
Roflcakes: I found it to be kinda meh too. Not because it was written poorly, but just because there wasn't much going in comparison to most of the episodes lately. That's not really a fair judgement though, because the other episodes of the season have been utterly fantastic.
Other than that I mostly agree with what's already been said. It was nice to finally see Twi's role in the community being acknowledged by someone other than Celestia, Luna or Cadence and I'm glad we got to catch a glimpse of her usual day to day happenings (when she's not out saving the world, that is). The diner scene was especially cute.
Something else of note that I found cool: Sweetie's progression with magic. I don't remember if its been shown before, but I found it very interesting seeing her struggle to focus the magic into her horn in order to successfully levitate the broom. I really hope we get to see more stuff like that in the future, if only because I think it's cool world building. Can't really go wrong with more of that, right?
Can't really complain about the overall writing or the moral either, Polsky is just his usual solid self. It just didn't stick out much in a season of solid 9s and 10s.
Seeing Sweetie finally developing her magic is awesome though. And I do find it kind of funny to see that Applebloom wound up sticking with that alchemy idea.
Anonymous2: man there are other sites to discuss the episode not this one just fap and enjoy the pic and talk about the episode in a forum or something
Well, as you could see on the site, we've discussed more than just MLP episodes. There's conversations about censorship, whoever is first to comment on the pictures, and the difference between Cartoon porn and actual child porn (I could go on for hours talking about that topic)
Overall, I think it reflects what I liked most about season 1, and what I'm liking most about season 4: even the "meh" episodes are contributing to something bigger than themselves. There's a bigger picture being painted.
Bright_Shadow: @G_Goobington_the_2nd: Goddamnit... I've need up to my elbows in pastel horse porn for so long that watching this show seems like a good idea now, moreso with it sounding like S4 is trying to veer back to the feel S1 had.
7/10.
