Anonymous3: @Colonel_Mael_Radec: Yes they are. The second game starts with an elite getting stripped, branded and has closeup cutscenes of him. The heretics you fight as that very elite wear armor that emphasizes their natural shape instead of all the shiny crests. The newest Halo game has a few elites that don't wear helmets at all.
