justjoe: It also makes me wonder if it was Candace or Stacy's' Mom idea that the girls' offence deserved pants down punishment? That must have been an interesting pre-spanking discussion!

jubilation_t_cornpone: anon-2, maybe Dr. Hirano is just more strict, applying heavier punishment for the same offense.

Anonymous12: American cartoons are weird, portraying Japanese people as brown as Indians and all with sub-saharan noses and 45 degree angle eyes and huge African lips.
American cartoons tend to have very ridiculous portrayals of other groups of people.
Then you find out that very early racist propaganda cartoons actually made up the basis for actual American cartoon artists in the generations after, in how they decided to draw other races.

Most American cartoons of Japanese and Asians in general are based off the "Chinese exclusion act" and "WW2 anti-Japanese" propaganda cartoons, which attempted to hyper exaggerate their features and dehumanise them. In fact some real cartoon artists were hired to create those propaganda cartoons (look it up).

In different countries, Asians are not drawn like this, but in America they are nearly always drawn like this.
