Cyrus visits the wrecked remains of the continent in one short story, where he fights Vivec and beats him. (He has to cheat a bit, but hey, when a mortal fights a god, you gotta take every advantage) That story also explains what really happened to Yokuda, so give it a read if you *really* want to know. They're human, but do not share the same blood. That could mean anything from blood type to something simple as not being related similar to different ethnicity of humans.
